Act 1: Kirti’s Defiance
Kirti arrived home, her heart heavy with the events of the day. As soon as she stepped inside, her family was already on edge. Kairav, her husband, was the first to speak, his voice tight with concern.
"Where were you, Kirti? You didn’t tell anyone you were leaving. You had your appointment today—why didn’t you go?"
Kirti hesitated for a moment, her gaze briefly meeting Kairav's before she spoke.
"I went to see Naira," she replied softly, her voice steady but firm. "She’s the one I want to handle my pregnancy."
A shocked silence filled the room. Kairav’s face darkened, and the room seemed to hold its breath. He stepped toward her, his anger barely contained.
"Naira?" he repeated, disbelief and frustration evident in his tone. "You want her as your doctor?"
Kirti nodded. "Yes, Kairav. I trust her. She’s grown into an amazing doctor, and I know she’s young, but I believe in her skills."
The family exchanged uneasy glances. Naitik, their father, stood quietly at the back, watching the exchange with a conflicted expression. His heart ached for both of his children. He missed his princess, his little girl, but he couldn't deny the pain that lingered in their family. He felt torn, caught between his love for both his children and the guilt that weighed on him.
"Kirti, you know how your brother feels about Naira," Naitik said, his voice full of sorrow. "It’s not just about her being a doctor—it’s about the pain she caused. Don’t put yourself in a situation where you’ll regret it."
Kairav’s anger flared. "I can’t believe this, Kirti. She’s the last person you should trust with your health, especially after everything that happened. How can you even think of putting yourself in her hands again?"
Kirti’s eyes softened as she turned toward Kairav, her voice calm yet firm. "I understand your anger, Kairav. But you need to let go of the past. Naira didn’t cause what happened. Yes, things went wrong, but it wasn’t her fault."
Kairav looked away, the weight of guilt pressing on his chest. His emotions were a tangled mess—his love for Kirti, his anger at Naira, and his own guilt over the family’s fractured bonds.
"You don’t get it," he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I’m the one who failed you, Kirti. If I hadn’t made the choices I did, we wouldn’t be here. But Naira… her carelessness still led to our loss. I can’t just forgive that."
Act 2: The Family Divided
The tension in the room grew unbearable as each family member struggled with their own emotions. Kirti was unwavering in her decision, but the others weren’t ready to accept it.
"I get it, Kairav," Kirti said softly, her voice filled with sorrow. "But I need to move on. I can’t keep living in the shadow of past mistakes."
Kairav crossed his arms, his gaze still cold. "And what about our family, Kirti? What about your brother and me? We’re supposed to just forget what happened and pretend it didn’t matter?"
Kirti’s heart ached as she looked at him, the pain in his eyes mirroring her own. She had never imagined their relationship would come to this—a place where the scars of the past were too deep to ignore. But she couldn’t let that hold her back.
"I’m not asking for your forgiveness, Kairav," she said, her voice quiet but resolute. "I’m asking for you to understand. I need to do this for myself."
Naitik watched his children, his heart heavy with guilt. "Kirti, I never wanted to hurt either of you. I was torn between my two children. I’ve always wanted to protect both of you, but I know I’ve failed in that."
Kairav’s frustration boiled over. "How can you be so sure about her, Kirti? She’s nothing but a 25-year-old doctor. I don’t trust her."
Kirti closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "I know this is hard, but I believe in her. I want her to be my doctor. And if you can’t accept that, then I’ll make that decision alone."
With that, Kirti turned and left the room, her heart heavy with the weight of her choice. As she walked away from the chaos, she knew she was doing what was best for her, but it didn’t make the decision any easier.
Act 3: Naira’s Struggle
Meanwhile, Naira sat in her clinic, her thoughts consumed by everything that had transpired. She had refused to take on Kirti’s case, not wanting to stir up old wounds, but the more she thought about it, the harder it became to walk away from Kirti, the woman who had once been a mother figure to her.
But Kirti’s insistence was hard to ignore. She couldn’t deny that the woman before her, the young doctor she had become, had earned her place in the medical world. Still, her heart ached with the thought of accepting Kirti’s request, of reopening old wounds that were still fresh in her mind.
As she sat at her desk, her gaze lingered on the file in front of her—Kirti’s file. It was a reminder of everything that had come before, and the possibility of what could be. But no matter how much she wanted to help Kirti, Naira was unsure if she could face the emotional toll of healing the past.
Could she take on the responsibility of caring for Kirti, knowing how complicated their history was? Would she be able to help her without tearing herself apart in the process?
As the hours passed, Naira’s mind continued to race with questions, but the answers remained elusive. She had always been a healer, but this time, it wasn’t just about medical skills. It was about family, love, and the painful history that bound them together.
The weight of the decision was heavy on her heart. Would she choose to help Kirti, or would she walk away, letting the family’s wounds remain unresolved?
